Red Bull's Verstappen, Perez not 'feeling stressed' about securing Constructors' title in US

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen and teammate Sergio Perez are not 'feeling stressed' about securing the Constructors' championship for their team at Austin this weekend.

At the last race in Japan, Verstappen secured his second-successive drivers' championship and heading to this weekend's racing in Austin, Texas, at the Circuit of the Americas, Red Bull needs a 147-point lead over Ferrari in the standings to secure the F1 Constructors' World Championship for the first time since 2013.

In an interview in Austin, Verstappen said they were not feeling "too stressed" about still needing to secure the constructors' championship with four races of the season remaining.

"Yeah, I mean, we are, of course, going to try to win it here," Verstappen said. "I think it's, of course, very important to us to win that title, but on the other hand, it needs to go severely wrong for the last few races not to win that one - so I'm not too stressed about it."

Ending the year strongly

The 25-year-old Verstappen added that despite winning the Drivers' championship, he was still targeting more success in the remaining races of the 2022 campaign.

"I had, like, one and a half days at home initially, but then I started to do some filming, some simulator work at the factory to prepare for the upcoming races," Verstappen said.

"It was okay; I mean, it was just nice to be home as well and just take the time off, and just really chill out, to be honest."
