"Really interests them" - Journalist hints West Ham think £40m PL ace can be their next Lingard

West Ham are interested in Chelsea duo Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Both players are currently a part of Thomas Tuchel’s first-team squad, but Jones says the Hammers are lurking in the background, waiting to see if they become available.

Earlier this month, The Sun claimed that Newcastle United had made Gallagher their primary target for this stage of the transfer window. The newspaper also suggested that the midfielder could cost £40m if he were allowed to leave Stamford Bridge before September’s deadline.

Having started in Chelsea’s humiliating 3-0 loss to Leeds United on Sunday, though, it looks like Tuchel has plans for him, especially with N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic currently out injured.

As for Broja, CBS reporter Ben Jacobs recently told GIVEMESPORT that both Everton and Leeds are circling around the striker.

Like Kante and Kovacic, Broja has also been sidelined and missed his side’s shock defeat at Elland Road.

Jones says Gallagher and Broja are both on West Ham’s radar, with the east London club believing that the former can make a similar impact to Jesse Lingard.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “They are still waiting in the background to hear on various situations ongoing at Chelsea – Broja is one of them but also Conor Gallagher really interests them. They feel his energy and ability would bring a similar lift to when Jesse Lingard came in.”

Broja, possibly. According to multiple outlets, including The Telegraph, Chelsea are trying to sign Barcelona forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
