'Really bad...' - 48 y/o says Bielsa flop may never play for Leeds again after injury news

Leeds United defender Junior Firpo may have played his last game for the club ahead of a summer exit, according to former top flight striker Kevin Phillips.

The left-back joined the Whites from Barcelona last summer, in a move that was considered exciting, given the stature of club he was arriving from.

Firpo has flattered to deceive in a Leeds shirt, however, not always convincing in a defensive sense and rarely offering enough quality going forward, proving just one assist all season.

“Hopefully he can make a speedy recovery but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not around next season.”

The hope was that Firpo was going to be an upgrade on Ezgjan Alioski at left-back but he has arguably been a downgrade, having impressed so little to date.

Alioski registered five times more direct goal involvements during his final season at Elland Road, despite Firpo arriving with a reputation for being a full-back with good end product.
