Real Madrid ace reveals Casemiro wish as Eric Bailly’s Manchester United exit edges closer

Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde says he hopes that Casemiro will stay at the club despite growing interest from Manchester United in his signature.

United are looking to add at least one new midfielder to their first-team squad by the end of the summer, with the 30-year-old the latest player of interest.

Erik ten Hag's side has approached Real about the possibility of signing the midfielder in the coming days, though it is still unclear whether or not the player really would be open to such a challenge. Speaking outside his club's training ground on Thursday, Valverde was quizzed on the future of his midfield teammate and the interest from United.

Marseille are in discussions to sign Manchester United defender Eric Bailly.

Bailly, 28, is fifth-choice centre-back at United following the signing of Lisandro Martinez and he only made seven appearances for the club last season. It is understood a possible loan with an option to buy is being discussed for Bailly.

United have been widely criticised for rewarding Bailly with a new contract in April 2021 when his previous deal was due to expire in June 2022 and they intended on signing Raphael Varane.
