Reaction to 0-0 draw between France and Netherlands at Euro 2024

LEIPZIG, Germany : Following is reaction after France and Netherlands drew 0-0 on Friday in their Euro 2024 Group D clash in Leipzig:

"I had two opportunities where the ball stuck on me, it's a real shame. Defensively we were good and tactically we were good. We're just missing that goal. But there’s no need to panic, the goals will come.” – France captain Antoine Griezmann

“Our goal was valid from what I could see from behind. France had their chances but we also had an opportunity or two on the counter. So a point it is! The fight we showed was positive, we have a point and now we go ahead. We have it all still in our own hands.” – Dutch skipper Virgil van Dijk,

"We didn't manage to make it happen. That happens sometimes, but a 0-0 result is good to take. There are periods when everything fits, others when it's more complicated. The important thing is to create these situations, and with the quality we have, I am confident that it will be better.” – French attacker Kingsley Coman.

“The match started well, but at the end it seemed like an exhibition draw. As if they thought: ‘We are happy with a point, we will leave it at that’. I think it's a shame, also the new format where the best number three in the group also progress (to the last-16). France is incredibly strong, but if you want something on this stage you also have to show that you can counter with power and conviction.” – Former Netherlands international Rafael van der Vaart.

“We failed with the last action, whether it was the last pass or the last shot. We will have to do better to win the matches. We created a lot of chances, we could have come away with the victory. There are things to rectify. The number one objective is to qualify and be first in the group.” -
