Ray Larkin and Brian Finn ratified as new Mayo hurling management team

Mayo GAA have ratified Ray Larkin and Brian Finn as the county's new senior hurling management team.

The duo succeed Dave McConn and Tom Phillips who ended their one-year tenure in August.

Mayo were relegated to Nicky Rackard Cup after losing five from five in the Christy Ring Cup.

Larkin and Finn will be joined in their backroom team by former Sligo hurling manager Pádraig Mannion who will serve as selector, while former Galway senior hurler Nigel Shaughnessy takes the role of head coach.

"There are twelve adult senior hurling teams in Mayo at present and I know they will cast their net wide and far in search for the best players to represent Mayo in the coming year," said Mayo GAA Hurling Chairperson Sean Ó Raghallaigh at at Wednesday night's county coard meeting following the ratification of Larkin and Finn.

"Tremendous work is taking place in all the hurling clubs in Mayo to promote the game of hurling at present and the Mayo GAA hurling committee will not be found wanting in supporting them."
