Ravichandran Ashwin's Cryptic Post On Ajinkya Rahane's Batting During Ranji Trophy Final Goes Viral

Indian cricket team spinner Ravichandran Ashwin's social media post on Ajinkya Rahane's batting during the ongoing Ranji Trophy final between Mumbai and Vidarbha has gone viral. Rahane survived an extremely close LBW appeal as a delivery from Umesh Yadav seamed back and crashed into his pads. Although Vidarbha were extremely confident, the umpire ruled in favour of the batter and replays showed that it would have been umpire's call. The commentators remarked that Rahane misread the line of the delivery resulting in some discomfort and Ashwin also highlighted a similar concern on Instagram.

“We have to talk about Ajinkya Rahane's head position. When the head falls over, it becomes difficult to play deliveries that cut in. When your head falls over, the delivery that seams in will always trouble you. Ajinkya will have to be wary of the that,” the commentator said following the incident.

Former Bengal cricketer Joydeep Mukherjee also noticed on commentary that Rahane's foot position gave the expression that he expected the ball to come straight to his bat.

“The foot pointing towards mid-off tells me that he was playing for the ball going straight and not jagging back otherwise it would be a lot straighter. Because of the length he has not been able to adjust the movement,” Mukherjee said.

Meanwhile, Shreyas was in fine touch on Tuesday as he slammed 95 off 111 balls and his celebration has gone viral on social media.

Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma was in attendance during the Ranji Trophy final match against Vidarbha and it was a perfect time for Iyer to find some form.

He looked extremely in control against the bowlers and scored a gritty half-century.
