Rave where Jay Slater partied before vanishing in Tenerife issues huge statement on his 'devastating' disappearance
Organisers of a rave that Jay Slater attended before suddenly vanishing in the mountains of northern Tenerife have issued a statement, describing his disappearance as 'devastating'.
The 19-year-old from Oswaldtwistle, in Lancashire, disappeared after it was reported he attempted to walk back to his accommodation - over 30km away - the morning after staying at an Airbnb rental he went to with new people he had met at the NRG music event.
Jay, who has not been seen or heard from since Monday (June 17), is said to have walked off alone and uphill into the mountainous area around the Rural de Teno park, near to the Masca village. It was reported he called his friend Lucy to explain he was lost and had one per cent phone battery, before his mobile ran flat at around 8.50am.
