Ratings: Hansen in a class of his own at Murrayfield

One of the strangest Irish wins for many years, but a hugely important one.

With a few minutes of the second half played, it looked like the day was going to turn sour for Ireland. Their injury list was growing bigger and bigger, they had a flanker throwing into lineouts and a loosehead prop in at hooker.

With all that context, the 22-7 win against Scotland is as impressive a victory as Andy Farrell has had since taking charge in 2022.

Here's how we rated the Irish players.

Hugo Keenan - 7

Will be frustrated at making the wrong read for Huw Jones' try, but made up for it with a bullet of a pass to Mack Hansen, setting up Ireland's first try on 27 minutes. It was also his kick-chase that forced Scotland into a rushed clearance on the hour mark, giving Ireland the platform from which they scored their third try.

Mack Hansen - 10

The game of his life. The Connacht wing had his fingerprints on pretty much every positive Irish attack; he scored the first try with a spectacular diving finish in the corner, he sparked the second try with a brilliant catch of a box-kick before offloading to Sexton, and his skip-pass sent Conan in to score the third. On top of that, he came up with some excellent defensive reads, as well as a perfect jackal penalty to relieve pressure when Ireland looked fragile early in the second half.

Garry Ringrose - 6

Wasn't able to impose himself like usual in defence up against Tuipulotu and Jones in the centre, and got caught with several missed tackles in the opening half in particular. Will almost certainly be ruled out of next week's game against England after suffering a horrible head injury late in this game.

Bundee Aki - 7

Looked far more comfortable back in the 12 jersey this week, and while he didn't
