Rate Manchester United players and their season so far

There's no denying it, Manchester United have endured a hugely disappointing season.

United had finished the last campaign in the Premier League runners-up spot, and then unleashed a stunning summer transfer window that saw the Reds recruit Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho. It meant that hopes - and expectations - of a real tilt at the big trophies were sky-high among the fans and at the club itself.

But it hasn't turned out that way. United got off to a slow start, form dropped off so dramatically that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked in November, just four months after signing a new three-year deal.

Michael Carrick and then Ralf Rangnick took charge on an interim basis while the club planned for their next permanent manager, but the Reds have exited from all three cup competitions and face an uphill struggle to reach the crucial top-four places in the Premier League.

Many of United's players have suffered from downturns in form, but there have also been some positives including Cristiano Ronaldo's goalscoring exploits and Anthony Elanga's emergence.
