Rare Cristiano Ronaldo piece of memorabilia could be worth as much as £110k

Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo has been the subject of rumours that he is set to be honoured with a limited-edition coin that could become a prized collector's item.

Despite entering the twilight of his career, United and Real Madrid hero Ronaldo clocked up his 900th career goal during the international break. While winning five Ballon d'Ors and an equal number of Champions League titles is impressive, his Euro 2016 victory with Portugal is among his proudest moments. On the international stage, Ronaldo also holds the men's record for the most goals, having netted 132 in 214 caps.

While the 39-year-old hasn't indicated when he might retire, there has been speculation that Portugal may opt to commemorate his illustrious career with a specially minted €7 coin. This theoretical limited-edition 'CR7' coin could become worth far more than its face value, with experts estimating it could fetch up to £113k.
