Rangnick: Man Utd reaction ‘wouldn’t have happened three months ago’

Ralf Rangnick praised his Manchester United players for their “reaction” to Leeds United’s comeback at Elland Road.

Man Utd went into Sunday’s game against Leeds United after beating Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 in midweek.

The Red Devils took control of the game before the break at Elland Road. Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes both scored headers.

Fred and Anthony Elanga came off the bench to score before the end as Man Utd eventually ran out 4-2 winners. 

They are now four points clear of fifth-placed West Ham. Arsenal and Tottenham are able to overtake Man Utd if they make the most of their games in hand, though.

Rangnick said post-match that his side “showed maturity” as they got the better of Leeds:

“It was a fantastic game to watch if you were not responsible as a manager of either team. A very good first-half, after the first 15 minutes we really had control of the game. We could have been 3-0 or 4-0 up,” Rangnick told Sky Sports.
