Rangers: 'Red hot' Ibrox could 'inspire' Europa League win

Ibrox’s “red-hot” atmosphere could “inspire” Rangers to a memorable night against RB Leipzig this evening.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side host the Bundesliga outfit in Glasgow, looking to overturn a 1-0 deficit following their narrow defeat in Germany last week.

Given that Leipzig sit fifth in the German top-flight, and were fourth heading into the game, the Scottish champions arrived as considerable underdogs.

But Rangers more than matched their opponents for long spells, showing all the discipline and courage needed in a European knockout tie away from home.

Unfortunately, ex-Manchester City defender Angelino’s late strike saw Leipzig claim a slender win, breaking Rangers hearts in the dying minutes.

However, Van Bronckhorst’s side have already shown what they’re capable of producing on home soil, knocking out Borussia Dortmund and Braga on their route to the semi-finals.

And O’Rourke reckons that if Ibrox produces another thunderous atmosphere, it could see Rangers into a first European final since they reached the UEFA Cup showpiece in 2008.  

He told GIVEMESPORT: “The atmosphere there will inspire the players. It’s such a good opportunity for them to make history and reach a European final.

“It’s going to be a red-hot atmosphere at Ibrox, and that might be something that the Leipzig players might not be too used to, so Rangers will be hoping that’ll inspire their players to another famous European night.”
