Rangers 'indicate' Stojan Lekovic transfer interest as Aberdeen FC enter tussle to sign towering goalkeeper

Rangers have reportedly been joined by Aberdeen in showing interest in Serbian goalkeeper Stojan Lekovic this summer.

Philippe Clement appears to be keen to add to his options between the sticks in the window with third-choice Jon McLaughlin set to leave at the end of his Ibrox contract while Robby McCrorie also appears likely to leave the Light Blues this summer, with Record Sport revealing Aberdeen's interest in the second choice Gers keeper. Scotland cap Liam Kelly is hotly tipped to join Rangers on a free after leaving Motherwell and reports in Germany suggest that the FK Radnicki Kragujevac No. 1 is also on the agenda amid doubts over Jack Butland's long-term future in the Scottish Premiership.

The Dons are also looking to recruit a goalkeeper this summer. Incoming boss Jimmy Thelin has tough job in replacing Kelle Roos this summer - and while Rangers back-up McCrorie is of interest to the Reds, Lekovic now also appears to be on the agenda.

The 22-year-old recently penned a contract extension with the Serbian top-flight club, but Fussball Europa claim that the deal was agreed with a "gentlemen's agreement" in place between the player and club that if a low six-figure fee came in they would sell.

Werder Bremen are also said to be interest in a deal. Bundesliga and Serbian teams have scouted the towering 6' 6" goalkeeper in recent months.
