Rangers fans' treatment of Amad justifies Ralf Rangnick stance on Manchester United starlet

Manchester United have sent a number of players out on loan in January to gain much-needed first-team experience or find the playing time they had been asking for.

Anthony Martial and Donny van der Beek are part of the latter camp and it's unclear whether they will be part of United's plans going forward but players such as Teden Mengi and Ethan Laird, who changed loan clubs in January, will be hoping to gain the requisite number of games to aid them in their journey to the first team at Old Trafford.

At the start of the season, many would have expected that Anthony Elanga would be part of the group of academy players who went out on loan in January but he has become an important part of the squad under Ralf Rangnick so, therefore, is staying put. His goal at Leeds United on Sunday was the latest evidence that he is ready to make an immediate first-team impact.

Elanga's ascent made it all the more necessary for positional rival Amad to find a temporary home in January.

The Ivorian winger had been set to join Feyenoord in summer but an injury saw his loan cancelled at the 11th hour and he subsequently missed a few months recovering as a result.

With no clear route to some game time on the table, Amad was given the opportunity to go out on loan again in January by Rangnick given his preference for Elanga and the 19-year-old joined Rangers in the Scottish Premier League.

Given Amad's fantastic technical ability but lack of stature given his height and frame, it was expected that the time in Scotland would allow him to learn how to operate around more physical players in a competitive league.

And it seemed like it was destined to work out when in Amad's first game for his new club he scored within the first 10 minutes,
