Rams poke fun at Miami Heat LeBron gaffe before Aaron Donald announcement - ESPN

A minute before announcing the return of Aaron Donald on X, the Los Angeles Rams seemingly poked fun at an unlikely team: the Miami Heat.

Los Angeles prepared to share the news that Donald would officially be unretiring and returning to the team on a one-year, $20 million deal with incentives. But it first had to reference a gaffe by the Heat on July 21.

While awaiting the pending free agency decision by LeBron James, Miami accidentally posted a scheduled live stream link titled «LeBron James Introductory Press Conference.» It was set for July 27 on its YouTube channel.

A team spokesperson later told ESPN's Shams Charania that the social media department was preparing for James' news and accidentally posted the link. It wound up being erased from the YouTube channel, but not from people's minds.

Los Angeles had a clever post on X just before Donald's news became reality, writing: «Anybody know how to set up a YouTube live stream without it going public? Need to test for something.»

One minute later, the team confirmed Donald's return. The Rams aren't the first sports organization to poke fun at the Heat's mistake.

The NHL's Winnipeg Jets shared their own introductory news conference link for James on July 22 with the same scheduled date as Miami's post. Winnipeg even created a thumbnail image with James in a Jets jersey and the text: «LePress Conference.» James didn't sign with the Jets or the Heat, instead announcing his decision to join the Philadelphia 76ers on July 24.

In announcing the news, the Rams shared an image of Donald in a defensive stance with the title, «Quarterbacks Rejoice» — the same graphic the Rams
