Manchester United have problems. Plenty of them, in fact.

But one standout issue that the Red Devils need to solve right now is their lack of goals.

Since interim manager Ralf Rangnick was appointed interim manager at the beginning of December, no team in the Premier League have created as many chances.

Yet, in the same period, four sides have done more of what counts - put the ball in the back of the net - by showing greater composure and a clinical edge that United are sorely missing.

In fairness to Cristiano Ronaldo, he did just that during Saturday's dismal 0-0 draw at home to Watford - only to be flagged offside before he even had the chance to bring out his signature celebration.

Ronaldo, even at 37, is supposed to be Rangnick's chief marksman, but heading into their most testing month of the season yet, young star Anthony Elanga has usurped him as a regular on the scoresheet, and as the song goes, has been United's saviour.

And not only could Elanga save the Red Devils' season, but Ronaldo's future at the club too.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is reportedly weighing up his options after just six months back at Old Trafford, having struggled to adapt to Rangnick's intense style of play since the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - evidenced by one goal in his last 10 games.
