Rail delays and disruption as person hit by train – updates

Services are suspended on some Transport for Wales services after a person was hit by a train. Emergency services were called to Rogerstone, near Newport, on Friday afternoon.

Services between Ebbw Vale and Newport , and between Ebbw Vale and Cardiff Central, are not running as emergency services work at the scene.

Disruption is expected to last until 3pm. National Rail say: "Emergency services are attending an incident between Rogerstone and Risca and Pontymister. Trains are currently unable to run between Cardiff Central/Newport and Ebbw Vale Town.

"Replacement road transport has been requested to serve stations Ebbw Vale town to Newport where connections to/from Cardiff Central may be made. Also Stagecoach South Wales will accept TfW rail tickets for stations to and from Ebbw Vale Town on their X15 service."
