Raheem Sterling: Commentary re-emerges of his miss vs Southampton last season

Raheem Sterling’s gilt-edged miss for Manchester City against Southampton last season is going viral on Twitter.

Why? We hear you ask…

Well, as bad as the miss was it’s not actually solely down to the sitter itself.

Instead, someone has discovered some genuine Arabic commentary – and it’s quite brilliant.

The video is captioned “Nothing will ever beat this commentary” and we’re can’t argue with that.

The clip starts off with Phil Foden running at Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu.

“Phil Foden in a tight space,” the commentator, who is called Issam Chawali, begins.

“You are good, Salisu. He won’t dribble past you,” he predicts.

“He did!?” the commentator proclaims in shock as Foden goes past Salisu and crosses the ball to an unmarked Sterling who looks certain to score.

“And the equaliser from Raheem,” he prematurely predicts.

However, Sterling somehow misses as Fraser Forster makes a brilliant save. But instead of giving credit to the goalkeeper, the commentator wanted to focus on Sterling. And that he did.

“No! Not possible. It’s not possible Sterling!” he exclaimed.

“The easiest goal in life. The easiest goal on earth. The easiest goal for a player. The easiest goal for a baby. The easiest goal for a kid. The easiest goal for a teenager. The easiest goal for a young man. The easiest goal for an old man. The easiest goal for a girl. The easiest goal for a female player.

Not possible! Not possible! Sterling this is not possible. Sterling this is not possible. He [Sterling] is shivering. What’s wrong with him? This Sterling. How do you miss this goal?”

Brutal. It was a bad miss but did it really deserve that kind of reaction from the commentator? Either way, fans on social media have seen the funny side of it.
