Racing world mourns passing of Lady Chryss O'Reilly
The horce racing world is in mourning after the passing of owner-breeder Lady Chryss O'Reilly.
Lady O'Reilly, the wife of Tony O'Reilly, was 73.
She served as the chairperson of the Irish National Stud for over a decade and owned the well-known stud farm Haras de la Louviere in Normandy, France.
Last Saturday, she was represented as the breeder of two Group Two winners.
Witch Hunter won the Hungerford Stakes at Newbury, while Vespertilio prevailed in the Debutante Stakes at the Curragh.
"She was a very kind woman," said trainer Eddie Lynam.
"I was fortunate to have trained for her for 15 years, maybe more, and she was a pleasure to train for as she was very knowledgeable. She will be sadly missed in racing throughout the world."
