Rabiot signs, De Ligt call, two exits - Dream Man United squad for USA pre-season tour

Manchester United will fly to the USA under Erik ten Hag for a second consecutive year as part of their preparations for the 2024/25 season. The Red Devils will take on Arsenal (July 28), Real Betis (August 1) and Liverpool (August 4) before returning to England for the Community Shield.

Last summer saw a similar pattern of games with United playing four MATCHES in total. Ten Hag named a 31-man travelling squad to the USA with most of his regular stars available due to no summer international tournaments.

After they face Rangers in Scotland on Saturday 20 July, United take on Arsenal eight days later. The Red Devils are expected to welcome back their international players as pre-season continues with Scott McTominay returning to Carrington this week.

International commitments means Ten Hag is without most of his key players. Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo, Joshua Zirkzee, Alejandro Garnacho, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot all made it to latter rounds of either Euro 2024 or Copa America with their nations meaning United are working with a handful of first-team players.

In the first pre-season friendly of the summer, the 1-0 defeat to Norway side Rosenborg, Ten Hag was able to use just five senior players - Jonny Evans, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Marcus Rashford and Mason Mount - with the rest of the squad made up of academy hopefuls.

The number of players who make the trip Stateside is not yet known. Here, MEN Sport attempts to identify the group of individuals who could be taken to the pre-season
