QPR set for true test of character this weekend – Opinion
Queens Park Rangers take on Peterborough United this weekend in the Sky Bet Championship in what is a big game for both sides.
Rangers are fighting for their play-off challenge with them currently sitting in sixth in the second tier table whilst Peterborough are currently propping up the division, sat in 24th.
On paper, then, this should be a straight-forward win for QPR but, this is the Championship, and Rangers have a lot to contend with this weekend.
In goal, they have big issues. Both Seny Dieng and David Marshall are out injured, with Lee Wallace having to fit in earlier in the week against Nottingham Forest for the final minutes.
That obviously won’t be the case this weekend, but it is clear that Rangers are suddenly up against it defensively.
And, up the other end, challenges are posing themselves too.
Chris Willock, arguably QPR’s best player this season, is also set to miss out after also picking up an injury, and you do feel as though luck is just not going the team’s way at the moment with that in mind.
Indeed, form has been a little patchy and with several sides just a matter of points behind them, now really is the time for QPR to stand up and deal with adversity against a Posh side that will perhaps see this as a game where they could upset the odds.
How Rangers do, then, may set the tone for the final few weeks.
