QB Donald Tabron II, No. 2 pocket passer in '28, picks Texas A&M - ESPN

Texas A&M secured one of the top quarterbacks in the 2028 cycle Saturday with a commitment from four-star quarterback Donald Tabron II.

The 6-foot-4, 190-pound prospect from Detroit's Cass Technical High School is ESPN's No. 2 pocket passer in the 2028 class. He announced his pledge to Texas A&M over finalists LSU and Oregon on Saturday evening following visits with each program in June. Tabron is the No. 26 overall recruit and No. 3 overall quarterback prospect in the SC Next ESPN Junior 300. A two-year starter at Cass Tech, Tabron threw for 2,819 yards and 35 touchdowns as a sophomore last season while leading the program to the Michigan Division I state title game.

Tabron visited Texas A&M last fall and returned for the program's junior day in January. He was back on campus in June and spent time with multiple members of the Aggies' top-ranked 2027 recruiting class, including five-star offensive tackles Kennedy Brown (No. 4 overall) and Mark Matthews (No. 11), who sold Tabron on Texas A&M's
