'Pure jubilation': Former Bafana coach Queiroz pulls off shock win with Iran to down 10-man Wales

Former Bafana Bafana head coach Carlos Queiroz, currently Iran mentor, has overseen his side pull off a major shock when they beat 10-man Wales 2-0 at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium on Friday.

Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey was given his marching orders in the dying minutes of the game and Iran duly took advantage.

Iran played without fear and were rewarded with two stoppage time goals from Rouzbeh Cheshmi and Ramin Rezaeian.

The defeat leaves Wales' World Cup hopes hanging by a thread as they sit bottom of the group, while Iran surged to second in Group B. 

With all the political unrest going, the victory uplifted both Iranian fans and players as they seek to qualify for the knockout rounds.
