Pundit lauds 'quality' Liverpool winger Luis Diaz following early impact

Liverpool would appear to have found another star in the making in the shape of Colombian winger Luis Diaz.

The 25-year-old arrived late in the January transfer window from FC Porto and has already suitably impressed in a short stint on Merseyside.

Having already made Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League bows, Diaz looks almost certain to have an influence on Jurgen Klopp’s side in the pursuit of trophies.

Speaking to Football Insider, Noel Whelan hailed the Reds’ boss and the recruitment whilst lauding the forward’s early showings.

“Massive credit to Jurgen Klopp. He looks for players who can hit the ground running and players who fit really well into his system. What a finish as well, wow. It was a typical Liverpool goal – great ball through from Henderson, brilliant diagonal run, and a lovely composed finish. Diaz got a first Liverpool goal against Norwich City over the weekend to add to 16 strikes and six assists for Porto this season.

Valued at £36million and under contract at Anfield until 2027 (Transfermarkt), Diaz’s stock is only heading in one direction as the Colombian spends his peak years at the club.

Undoubtedly a prestigious talent, Liverpool supporters can be truly excited by what is to come from their latest star signing.

True to form, it seems those in charge of bringing players to the club have indeed done it once again.
