Pub sells pints for 6p in honour of Queen Elizabeth II

A pub sold pints for 6p in honour of the late Queen. The Entwistle Hotel, in Darwen, Lancashire, said it decided to make the huge price drop for an hour earlier today (Friday).

The pub said on Facebook that all pints were being sold for 6p from 10am to 11am, the same price that pints were when the Queen became the monarch in 1952.

"In honour of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II who sadly passed this afternoon from 10am in the morning and for the 1st hour all pints will be 6p which was the price of a pint in 1952 when the Queen ascended to the throne," the pub said.

One commenter said: "Lets hope folk don't get too greedy for your gesture."

While another said: "You need to use pre decimal currency."
