PSG XI vs Real Madrid: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news and Kylian Mbappe injury latest

Kylian Mbappe is now expected to fit to line up for Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League showdown with Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Mbappe sustained an injury in training on Monday when Idrissa Gueye stood on his foot during a drill and there were initially fears that PSG would be without the 23-year-old for the second leg of their last-16 tie at the Bernabeu.

But an MRI revealed no fracture and Mbappe has been named in the travelling party heading to Madrid.

PSG will continue to monitor Mbappe and in a statement released late on Monday said: “Kylian Mbappe received a knock on his right foot in training today. He has undergone treatment this afternoon. The medical tests are reassuring and another update will be made in 24 hours.”

Lionel Messi is set to start as he returns to the Bernabeu for a showdown with old rivals Real Madrid.

PSG hold a one-goal lead from the first leg of their last-16 tie, thanks to a late Mbappe strike at Parc des Princes.

Sergio Ramos misses out while the former Madrid captain battles a calf injury, as does Layvin Kurzawa.

A number of stars were rested for the game in Nice and Gianluigi Donnarumma leads the list of players set to return to the starting line-up. Achraf Hakimi and Leandro Paredes are both once again available for selection.

Predicted PSG XI: Donnarumma; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Kimpembe, Mendes; Danilo, Verratti, Gueye; Messi, Mbappe, Neymar.
