PSG XI vs Real Madrid: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, Mbappe injury, as Messi returns to Bernabeu

Lionel Messi is set to start as he returns to the Bernabeu for a Champions League showdown with old rivals Real Madrid, but Kylian Mbappe is a major doubt.

Paris Saint-Germain hold a one-goal lead from the first leg of their last-16 tie, thanks to a late Mbappe strike at Parc des Princes.

The French striker missed the weekend’s Ligue 1 defeat to Nice due to a domestic suspension and had been in line to return but according to reports picked up an injury in training on Monday.

Mauricio Pochettino will likely be without midfielder Ander Herrera for the game, due to an eye infection.

Sergio Ramos is also a doubt while the former Madrid captain battles a calf injury.

A number of stars were rested for the game in Nice and Gianluigi Donnarumma leads the list of players set to return to the starting line-up. Achraf Hakimi, Layvin Kurzawa and Leandro Paredes are all expected to be available for selection.
