PSG 'offer' Kylian Mbappe £800,000-per-week contract in huge Real Madrid transfer blow

Paris Saint-Germain have thrown one last mega-money offer in the direction of Kylian Mbappe to prevent the forward from heading to Real Madrid at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old World Cup winner was the subject of multiple huge bids from Los Blancos last summer in what proved to be a defining transfer saga of 2021, which has since carried over past the turn of the calendar year. However, there appears to have been a twist in the tale.

Mbappe had previously made little secret of his admiration for Real Madrid and his desire to one day ply his trade there, but is now rumoured to be considering PSG's latest contract offering. The deal would see the striker pocket an eye-watering amount of around €50million per year - £800,000 every week.

The chances of Mbappe making the move to Madrid this summer have taken significant damage over a dispute surrounding the player's image rights. Those at the top of the Los Blancos hierarchy are desperate to not see this deal fall through their hands just months before the striker becomes available.

This season has seen Mbappe continue to assert his dominance on the biggest stage of all, with two goals against Real Madrid no less in the Champions League round of 16. The France international was let down by those around him as PSG were eliminated despite at one stage boasting a two-goal advantage.

Mbappe has carried that form across the league season as well, with a stunning return of 22 goals and 14 assists in just 30 Ligue 1 games as PSG look on course to secure their tenth domestic title. The former Monaco man has outscored both of his fellow forwards in Lionel Messi and Neymar.
