PSG 4-2 Nantes: Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe on target as hosts triumph in six-goal Ligue 1 thriller

Paris Saint-Germain beat Nantes 4-2 with both Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe on target as they went 11 points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table. The hosts took the lead after 12 minutes. Nuno Mendes did well to dig out a cross on the left-hand side which bobbled up into the path of Lionel Messi, who rifled it home.

Ad PSG didn't have to wait long for a second and Mendes was once again involved. The Portuguese full-back thumped an effort on goal which Alban Lafont could only divert into the path of Jaouen Hadjam who, under pressure from Nordi Mukiele, turned the ball into his own goal. Ludovic Blas found space on the left in a crossing position. He then spotted Gianluigi Donnarumma off his line and elected to thump an effort goalwards, which crept in at the near post. Seven minutes later, the visitors had an equaliser.

Florent Mollet's corner was flicked on at the front post by Ignatius Ganago and it found its way into the back of the net. Paris went back ahead on the hour mark when Kylian Mbappe's cross found the head of Danilo Pereira. Nantes pushed in the second half for an equaliser but Christophe Galtier's side were able to see the result out with Mbappe adding the sixth goal to stretch the hosts' lead late on.
