PS5 Slim console drops to lowest-ever price thanks to Amazon deal - a month before Black Friday

Gamers are in for a treat as Amazon offers the PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Console at its lowest-ever price. Currently available for £334, this deal saves shoppers £55.99 from the usual £389.99 price tag.

According to Amazon price tracker camelcamelcamel, this is the cheapest it's ever been. The same deal can be found at Very, while Currys and Argos offer it for £339 and £339.99 respectively.

Sony launched the Slim version of its PS5 in November 2023, three years after the release of its larger counterpart. As the name suggests, the Slim is a more compact version of the standard PS5, coming in 24 per cent lighter and 30 per cent smaller.

It also boasts 1TB of storage compared to the previous model's 825GB and a second USB-C port, along with 4K graphics and HDR technology. It also comes with Sony's DualSense wireless controller that offers haptic feedback and adaptive trigger functionality.

However, as a digital console, the PS5 Slim cannot be used to play discs or watch films on Blu-ray. A PS5 disc drive for the console can be purchased from HMV for £99.99, but it works out cheaper to buy the PS5 Slim disc model for £424 from Amazon, reports the Mirror.
