Proteas fall just short against England as coach Plummer says goodbye
The South African netball side lost 53-50 to England on Sunday as they fell on the wrong side of the three-match series in Nottingham.
The series had been tied at 1-1 heading into the decider, with England now claiming a 2-1 series win.
It was another cliffhanger and the Proteas couldn't ever build a lead.
Still, there have been some hugely encouraging signs on this tour for coach Norma Plummer, who will now be leaving her post.
"I have had the privilege of working with the best bunch of players in this South African team," she said.
"It is unfortunate we did not win the series, but I can assure you that we have built something here and I can only hope that the team grows from here.
"I’d like to wish the team well and thank them for a great second stint. The time is now for Netball South Africa and netball in South Africa to grow."
