Primark Manchester launches free fashion workshops for kids and teens this school holidays, here's how to book

Primark in Manchester is giving kids the chance to attend fashion workshops completely free of charge this school holidays.

Following a number of successful one-off sessions hosted by the retailer last year, children from the age of nine can now book on a two or three-day workshop. The first takes place next week, from August 13 to 15, and there's another on August 31 and September 1. Spaces are limited and can be booked online now, with parents able to drop children off and pick them up at the end of the day.

All equipment and materials are provided so youngsters, up to the age of 16, only need to take along a refillable water bottle and a packed lunch. Next week's event is Summer Slogans and Sparkles and will see expert tutors helping to guide kids to design and make a summer outfit, decorated with sparkles, sequins and slogans.

It runs from 10.30am to 4pm on each day and participants need to be available for the three days. The later workshop, from August 31, is Back To School: Textiles and Sewing and kids will be able to design and create their own fabrics to make a drawstring PE bag or a pencil case.

They'll customise fabrics and use layer techniques such as embroidery, fabric pens, buttons, sequins, and creating a print or logo.

Tutors will once again be on hand to guide them through your project, which will involve designing, pattern cutting, pinning, measuring and sewing. They must be available for both days.

Speaking about next week's workshop, a Primark spokesperson said: "Kids can get crafty this August with a three-day themed workshop hosted in the newly renovated space where they will create a whole outfit from start
