Premier League trio set to rival European giants for signing of Tottenham outcast

Leeds United, Everton and Newcastle United have all reportedly joined the race to sign Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga, along with AC Milan.

There has been speculation over Tanganga moving on from Tottenham for some time. The Englishman was used in only 11 Premier League games last season.

Since Spurs have signed Clement Lenglet, he will surely be afforded even less game time.

As such, a move away might be the best bet. AC Milan have been credited with an interest throughout the summer transfer window.

They were keen earlier on in the summer, but turned their backs on the deal. Now, they are once again interested in taking Tanganga off of Spurs’ hands.

However, they are not alone in their interest in the defender.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that Leeds, Everton and Newcastle are all also keen on Tanganga.

That report states that the issues with Milan’s previous approaches have been the terms. Indeed, the Serie A champions reportedly want to loan him in with an obligation to buy.

However, it seems Spurs do not want to lose him permanently.

The report does not mention what type of transfer any of the Premier League trio would want.

It does not seem like there is a bad option for Tanganga regarding a move to one of the interested sides. The likes of Fikayo Tomori and Ethan Ampadu have made their way to the Serie A of late, and have done well, so Milan could be a good move for him.

What’s more, Leeds have started the season in great form, winning two out of three games so far. However, the defence was plagued with injuries last season, and if that were to happen again, they could struggle.
