Premier League reveal date changes for two key Manchester United fixtures this season

Manchester United's games against Aston Villa and West Ham in October have been given new dates.

United take on Manchester City in the Community Shield at Wembley on Saturday and that clash is the final opportunity to prepare for the new Premier League campaign.

Erik ten Hag must oversee a drastic improvement in the 2024/25 season and the eyes of the world will be watching after a tumultuous 12 months in charge for the Dutchman.

Two of United's games for the new season have been rescheduled and the first change will see United play Aston Villa away from home on Sunday, October 6 (live on Sky Sports, 2pm kick-off). Ten Hag's side were originally set to play Villa on Saturday, October 5 but the game will be shown on TV.

The other change sees United play West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday, October 27 (2pm kick-off), a game originally pencilled in for the previous day. However, that fixture has not been selected to be broadcast on TV, meaning the travelling fans will exclusively watch it live.

United will play Brentford at Old Trafford in between those two games but that clash, which will be played on Saturday, October 19, has been unaffected by the changes.

The Reds play Fulham on the opening day of the campaign and must get off to a strong start to ease concerns about last season's poor results spilling into 2024/25.
