Premier League meeting LIVE crunch FFP talks amid Man City showdown

Premier League members are due to sit down together today for perhaps their most important annual general meeting for decades.

Representatives of Manchester City will be present on the back of the news that the Blues are set to sue the Premier League over Associated Party Transaction (APT) rules, which they feel are unlawful. A two-week hearing on the regulations - established in 2021 to ensure such deals are not inflated above market rates - is set to begin on Monday.

Meanwhile, this is the first annual summer Premier League meeting since Sir Jim Ratcliffe arrived at Manchester United. He will be interested in the new proposals for Profit & Sustainability Rules.

United are thought to be close to spending limits, having refrained from splashing a penny in January. New plans suggest the League adopts a new 'anchoring' system where clubs are allowed to spend a multiple of the bottom club's TV revenue, while a new spending cap could be introduced.

Clubs will also vote on whether to scrap VAR, a motion put forward by Wolves. It is widely expected that this proposal will be rejected.
