Premier League forced to release statement during Man City vs Manchester United

VAR checked and cleared Manchester United's second-half penalty claim after United were left aggrieved during Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester City.

However, the game sparked into life in the dying embers with Amad inspiring the turnaround. He swooped in on Matheus Nunes' loose pass before the Portuguese brought him down then minutes later, he raced in behind to complete the comeback.

In a tweet, the Premier League match centre said: "The referee’s call of no penalty for the challenge between Højlund and Dias was checked and confirmed by VAR, deeming it was normal contact."
