Prem trio ‘poised to move’ for Alli with Newcastle ‘leading the chase’

Three Premier League clubs are “poised to move” for Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli while Newcastle are “leading the chase” to sign him, according to reports.

The Englishman was not involved over the weekend as Spurs were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea. It has been reported that they are “open” to him leaving on loan. 

Alli’s form has dipped over the past couple of years and he has only been a bit-part player for Tottenham this term.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Newcastle United are “leading the chase” to sign him on loan before the window closes.

The report adds that several clubs are “closely monitoring his situation”. They name Brighton, Burnley and Everton as the interested teams.

Speaking on Sunday, Antonio Conte admitted that there is a “very big gap” between Spurs and Chelsea:

“This is not the right moment to speak, the club know very well what I think. There is not one transfer market to close the gap. In the last few years, this gap [between Spurs and Chelsea] became very big and now it is not simple to find a solution in a short time.

“I am only focused to work until the end, we have four months to try and give everything, but if we think we solve the situation with the transfer market, it is not the reality. You need many years, but for sure we have to start.

“You have to sell or loan players and it is difficult. Then you have to find the right players for you. You can only start this process but you need many years.
