Potential blow for 26 y/o revealed as Cardiff City transfer stance emerges

There is no indication that Championship outfit Cardiff City will look to revive their interest in Portsmouth winger Ronan Curtis in the coming months despite previously being interested in luring him to the Welsh capital, as per Wales Online.

This latest report comes after it was revealed by The News that the Irishman is looking likely to leave Fratton Park in the next few months with officials on the south coast prepared to accept a £500,000 offer for his services if it comes along.

Hibernian, managed by ex-Sunderland and Bristol City boss Lee Johnson, are thought to be keeping tabs on his current situation ahead of a potential approach as they potentially look to lure him to Scotland.

Curtis had previously admitted his desire to move up to the second tier of English football with the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City, Derby County and Reading all previously being linked with a move for the 26-year-old.

Derby and the Royals are unlikely to recruit him this summer though with the former still in administration at this stage and the latter operating within a strict EFL business plan, with their limited budget likely to rule them out of the race.

This could enable the Bluebirds to steal a march on their rivals and make a move for the League One star – but according to Wales Online – there’s currently nothing to suggest that they are still interested in making a move for the Pompey man.
