Police still hunting suspects after hand grenade left outside house and bomb squad scrambled

Police are still hunting for two suspects after a hand grenade was left outside a house in Bury.

Two men on a motorbike placed the device outside of a house on Randale Drive last Thursday night (September 29), police said. The 'item of concern' was found by a member of the public.

Bomb disposal experts, police officers and firefighters were scrambled to the scene. A cordon was put in place and residents were evacuated from their homes as bomb disposal experts assessed the grenade.

In an update issued this morning (October 4), a spokesperson for the force confirmed that no arrests had been made yet in connection with the incident. Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward.

This incident will undoubtedly cause concern and worry in the local area but I’d like to reassure residents that we will have an increased police presence in the area while our investigation progresses.

"We are following up on a number of lines of enquiry this morning in an attempt to track down those responsible. It has been reported to us that at
