Police say 'no risk to public' after man arrested and placed under armed guard at hospital after weapon recovered

A weapon was recovered following the man’s arrest and enquiries are ongoing, added Greater Manchester Police. There was – and is – not any danger to those in the hospital, the M.E.N. understands.

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, which operates Fairfield, has been contacted for comment.
