"Plenty of people in his ear": Journalist drops Moshiri claim at EFC after 55 y/o manager report

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is likely to be ‘keeping track of managers across Europe’ due to the continuation of Frank Lampard’s struggles in the Goodison Park dugout, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

Lampard was appointed as the Toffees’ manager on deadline day of the January transfer window, succeeding the sacked Rafa Benitez after just six-and-a-half months at the helm, but his reign has not gone to plan so far.

According to the Daily Mail, Lampard still has the Everton board’s full backing amid speculation that Moshiri was heading to Merseyside to hold talks with the former Chelsea chief yesterday.

The report suggests the key decision-makers behind-the-scenes at Goodison Park are not panicking and far from resigned to relegation, with the mood within the camp said to still be positive despite their predicament.

It comes after French media outlet RMC Sport claimed Everton are among a number of clubs keeping a close eye on 55-year-old Rennes head coach Bruno Genesio.

Everton, who are set to do battle with Manchester United tomorrow, head into the weekend sitting just one point clear of the Premier League’s relegation zone.

The Toffees’ latest setback in their bid to avoid the drop came at the hands of fellow strugglers Burnley, with Lampard’s charges being condemned to a 3-2 defeat thanks to a late Maxwel Cornet winner at Turf Moor.

Lampard challenged his players to ‘keep fighting’ for Premier League survival and was left to rue costly errors, while Everton’s struggles were emphasised by Burnley chief Sean Dyche revealing his half-time team talk included telling his players ‘I’m not sure these know how to win a game, away from home particularly’.
