Platform 7 'revenge' twist praised as ITV thriller comes to a dramatic end

On Thursday evening, audiences of Platform 7 were transfixed as Lisa (portrayed by Jasmine Jobson) got supernatural revenge on her former partner Matty (played by Toby Finn Regbo) from the afterlife.

Viewers saw the tragic circumstances of Lisa's demise as it was revealed she was attempting to break free from her manipulative and violent boyfriend.

After learning this, the dramatic final instalment saw Lisa haunting Matty as he embarked on a new romance, knowing the dark reality of his character, she decided to prevent this new woman from meeting the same destiny.

Armed with newfound spectral powers to manipulate objects, Lisa set out to frighten Matty, spooking him by orchestrating dinner arrangements in their apartment and etching a heart onto a fogged-up mirror.

When his new interest tried to break ties with Matty, prompting a hostile reaction from him, Lisa intervened as she leapt upon his back, a chilling revelation struck Matty he was being pursued by Lisa's ghost, reports the Express.

Flooded with dread, Matty fled their home, unwittingly retracing the steps of Lisa's fateful last escape.

Mirroring her own past, Matty stumbled onto the railway tracks but, in a twist, Lisa saved him from death, pushing him to safety.

Though she preserved his life, he crumbled and ended up in an institution after questioning his own insanity.

The resolution was heavily praised by ITV viewers as many applauded how Matty met his downfall.
