Pitso Mosimane: Senegal coach asked me why I don't coach Bafana

Well-renowned football coach Pitso Mosimane has become more vocal since relinquishing his title as head coach of Al Ahly in June.

The 58-year-old spoke openly about Patrice Motsepe and how he feels the former Mamelodi Sundowns boss (now CAF president) has ulterior motives against him.

Mosimane also revealed that he has no intentions to rush back into football management anytime soon, saying: "I'll get back to coaching when I feel like I want to go back. Sometimes you have to take a step back. Big coaches like Pep Guardiola have done that."

Speaking to Radio 702, 'Jingles', as he is affectionately  known, recently acquired his pro licence through the Morocco Federation via "an invite", where he rubbed shoulders with Senegal head coach Aliou Cisse.

"The coaches there, they ask me, even Aliou Cisse, he asked me 'why you don't coach South Africa?' They look at my country as it is; for them, they look up to South Africa; we're top in the continent and all that," Mosimane said.

"I said 'I was there, and they sacked me, they said they know more than me. The guys were saying, 'are you serious?'

"If you are leading the continent as one of the top coaches here in the continent and South Africa are not doing well, who is coaching them?

"I then said it's a different situation. To be honest with you, I feel appreciated more outside than in my country to be honest."
