Pirates 'happy' with neutral venue but 'urge Nigerian fans' for support in CAF Confed final
Orlando Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids says the DStv Premiership club will welcome support from the home crowd during their CAF Confederation Cup final on Friday.
The Buccaneers take on Moroccan side RS Berkane at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Nigeria.
Kick-off is at 21:00 (SA time).
Pirates boast the services of Nigerian centre-back Olisa Ndah, who played in the Nigeria Professional Football League for Akwa United before signing for the Sowetan giants.
They have also previously played host to former Super Eagles' stars Williams Okpara, Sonny Opara and Sam Pam.
Ahead of the weekend's encounter, Davids said: "We are happy because it's a neutral venue and of course if the final was in Morocco, it would be a different story.
"I urge Nigerian fans to come out and support us. Their prodigal son Ndah is returning to their stadium.
"We are playing at Akwa United's stadium where he won the league before coming to join Orlando Pirates."
