Pierre Gasly looking for AlphaTauri improvement in coming races

AlphaTauri driver Pierre Gasly says that his team still has a few things they need to improve in the coming races but they have some new parts on the way that should help them with that aim.

The French driver has perhaps not quite had the start to the season he would have wanted, given his ability and performance last year, with a retirement, a P8 and a P9 recorded so far.

Even so, points finishes in the last two races is still a decent enough building block and with his team still looking to make sure the car is as reliable as it can be, Gasly is hopeful that even better results are just around the corner.

Speaking after scoring points in Australia, Gasly revealed that there are areas he would like to see worked on with the car, but that new parts are on the way as we head towards the European stretch of the season.

“I still feel like we’ve got a few things to improve on, we’ve got some new parts coming in the next few races, so we’ve got to keep up with the others if we want to keep fighting for these positions.

“We would like to be a bit further up in the order, so we’ll keep pushing.”

AlphaTauri get their local Grand Prix next weekend at Imola, whilst, after a trip to Miami, the European season continues with trips to Barcelona and Monaco before the end of May.

The team will be looking to see their upgrades benefit the car in those races, then, with both Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda eager to prove their worth in 2022.

Gasly, of course, had a stellar 2021 and is one of the top drivers outside the ‘top teams’ so he in particular will want to see the AT03 only getting better and better this year.
