Person in hospital after 'serious collision' in Cardiff street
A person has been taken to hospital after a "serious collision" between a vehicle and a pedestrian which blocked a road in Cardiff. Police and ambulance crews were called to Cathedral Road in Pontcanna following the incident between Talbot Street and Hamilton Street.
One person was taken to the University Hospital of Wales following the crash, an ambulance service spokesman said. Police have confirmed that the pedestrian sustained some injuries which required hospital treatment but are not thought to be serious.
Officers from South Wales Police attended the incident and motorists were initially advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes with delays in the area following the incident shortly after 6pm.
One eyewitness reported seeing three police cars and an ambulance at the scene while multiple people said they had seen a person being given medical attention. The incident cleared shortly before 7.30pm.
