Performance suddenly stopped at busy Manchester bar over 'safety of guests'

A performance was suddenly stopped at a busy Manchester bar on Saturday night (February 15) over concerns for the safety of guests.

The Avan Lounge Restaurant and Shisha Bar, in Cheetham Hill, was packed out for the ticketed appearance by East London rapper and singer Yxng Bane.

But the show was suddenly cut short mid-way through the performance and Yxng Bane made an 'abrupt departure' over concerns for safety due to an 'unexpected crowd control issue' the venue said.

The special Valentine's performance had sold out online after fans were offered an 'unforgettable celebration'. The venue later apologised to attendees in a statement online and said they had to 'prioritise the safety of our guests, artists and staff.'

A statement shared on the venue's social media platform read: "We would like to sincerely apologise to everyone who attended the YXNG BANE event last night. We understand your disappointment and frustration regarding his performance being cut short and his abrupt departure.

"Unfortunately, due to an unexpected crowd control issue, we had to prioritise the safety of our guests, artists, and staff. As a result, the performance was brought to an end earlier than planned.

"This was not the experience we intended to deliver, and we deeply regret any inconvenience caused. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to improve our event management for future shows.

"Our team is reviewing the situation to ensure this doesn't happen again. We truly value your support and loyalty. We are improving and will do better in the future. Thank you for your continued support and trust in Avan Lounge."

The venue has been contacted by the Manchester Evening News for further details.
