Pep Guardiola shocked as Fernandinho reveals plan to leave Man City

Pep Guardiola was left shocked after being told that Fernandinho plans to leave Manchester City this summer.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid, Fernandinho was asked if he would like to extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium for one more year.

The 36-year-old issued a blunt response: “I don’t think so.”

After nine seasons with City, it seems the former Brazil international is keen to return to his home country.

“Yes, I will go back to Brazil for sure,” he added, per the Daily Mail. “I decided with my family and that is most important for me.”
