Raheem Sterling enjoyed another impressive season at Manchester City as the club claimed their fourth Premier League title in five seasons. The England winger scored 17 goals and notched a further nine assists in 47 appearances across all competitions to help Pep Guardiola’s side finish a point clear of runners-up Liverpool.
However, Sterling has become something of a peripheral figure at City over the last couple of seasons, with Guardiola often choosing not to start him in their most significant of matches. The fact that he was left on the bench for both legs of their Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid indicates he’s seen as more of a squad player at the Etihad Stadium.
Sterling's contract expires next summer, and the 27-year-old has been linked with a move to Chelsea. Guardiola revealed after last season’s 4-0 win at Norwich that he was unsure if the England star would remain in Manchester, and a return to London could be on the cards this summer with London rivals Arsenal also eyeing a move.
